2015 - First Quilt
Colorful fabrics, including one by Laurel Burch, seemed to call out to me. I think I just want to do an easy-peasy quilt so I cut five-inch squares. I have lots going on this month so it isn't going to be a quick quilt. With the coziness of snow and cold outside, it's a perfect setting to sew. I can't wait to sit at my machine and sew.
Happy Quilting ♥♥♥♥♥

Benjamin’s “big” quilt
Benjamin’s second quilt is on the long arm. This quilt will fit his big bed.
I love my design. ♥

It was a happy Saturday
It all started with a plan to check out a new quilt shop in Oxford.
Starting our day, we stopped at Paul's in Rochester for breakfast. From there we headed to Oxford and our first peak at the new quilt store that just opened in June. Kindred Spirits Quilt Shoppe was a splendid find. It has beautiful fabrics. The grand opening is Saturday, July 19th.
From there we went to Ortonville to a shop called Mabelena's. A packed shop with a beautiful selection of fabrics and quilt supplies. Then we headed north on M-15 to Linda's Country Quilt Shop in Davison. Not only did this shop have a splendid selection of fabrics, but it has beautiful rooms for classes with so many quilts displayed all through the rooms that would inspire not only quilters but also non-quilters.
Our last stop was an early dinner at The Burning Oak Smokehouse on M-24. If you like BBQ's, this is your place.
So we headed towards home, each with a bag from each store. Yes, it was a beautiful summer day. ♥
